    This award is given to a Gamma Sigma Delta member who has made great achievements/contributions to agricultural and related sciences at the state, national and/or international levels in teaching, research, extension, or other distinguished service such as administration. The nomination letter must specifically describe accomplishments over the past five years; however, lifetime achievements may also be considered in making this award. Such distinguished contributions may have been in any field so long as it was directly or indirectly related to agriculture. The recipient is chosen by the International Officers of GSD.
    2013 IFT (Institute of Food Technologists) Fellow
    Election as an IFT Fellow is a unique professional distinction conferred for outstanding and extraordinary contributions in the field of food science and technology. The IFT Fellow designation is an honor bestowed upon an IFT member by their peers, recognizing exemplary professionalism in the field of food science. In a given year, no more than 0.3 percent of the professional membership is eligible, and even fewer than that will earn this honor.
    2013 Certified Food Scientist (CFS) by the International Food Science Certification Commission (IFSCC), Institute of Food Technologists (IFT)
    CFS was developed consistent with the ISO/IEC 17024 global standard for certification, and is awarded to applicants who pass a rigorous exam on the core professional competencies of a food scientist.

    2005 National Association of Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) Teaching Award
    The NACTA committee for improvement of teaching has developed a program to provide recognition of outstanding instructional performance by a faculty member at each college of University having Institutional Membership in NACTA. The NACTA teaching award is presented to an outstanding teacher in the LSU College of Agriculture.

    This award goes to the faculty member in agriculture or a related field who has excelled in the area of teaching.
    2005 LSU Tiger Athletic Foundation President’s Award
    This award recognizes a faculty member for extraordinary undergraduate classroom teaching as demonstrated by an impact on and involvement with students, a scholarly approach to teaching and learning, and contributions to the profession of teaching.
    2004 LSU Advisor of the Year awarded by the University College
    This award is based on the national criteria of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) and is to honor an individual who is making significant contributions to the improvement of academic advising. The award speaks highly of the award recipient’s commitment to teaching, serving the Baton Rouge community and furthering the civic engagement of students. Only one recipient is selected each year at LSU and the recipient’s name will be submitted as the LSU’s representative for National Competition as the National Advisor of the Year.
